The mission of Signal Mountain Bible Church is to equip believers through the teaching of the Word of
God (Ephesians 4:11-16). This mission has three components:
The upward ministry of worship through prayer (Acts 2:42), singing praise (Colossians 3:16),
remembering the Lord in Communion (Acts 2:42; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26), and studying Scripture (2
Timothy 2:2,15).
The inward ministry of building up the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12,16) through application of Scripture to our Christian
responsibilities, both personally and corporately: by encouragement (Hebrews 10:25), prayer (Philippians 4:6; 1 Thess.
5:17), accountability (Galatians 6:1-5), discipline (1 Peter 5:8), benevolence (1 John 3:17), hospitality (Romans 12:13; 1
Peter 4:9), and serving one another through our Spiritual gifts (Rom. 12:6-8; 1 Cor. 12:8-11, 28; Eph. 4:11; 1 Peter 4:11).
The outward ministry of fulfilling Jesus' great commission to make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20) through evangelism (2
Corinthians 5:18-20) and discipleship (1 Thessalonians 2:1-12).
The goal of our ministry is to know Jesus Christ (Philippians 3:10) and to make Jesus Christ known (2 Corinthians 5:18).
